Obstetrics & Gynecology Department
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at MCU-FDTMF Hospital is renowned for its distinguished history and dedication to women’s reproductive health. Established in 1947, it has been led by some of the nation’s finest specialists in the field, with five faculty members honored as Presidents of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS).
Our department offers comprehensive care and advanced training in Obstetrics and Gynecology, underpinned by a legacy of academic and clinical excellence. We provide a wide range of services and have developed specialized sections in Endoscopy, Menopause, Oncology and Trophoblastic Diseases, Perinatology, and Ultrasound, reflecting our commitment to addressing the diverse needs of women at different life stages.
The department has pioneered technology-based training programs since gaining POGS accreditation, maintaining a leadership role particularly in ultrasound training. Our High Risk Unit (HRU) and subspecialty services underscore our dedication to improving pregnancy outcomes and reducing perinatal deaths.
Our state-of-the-art Operating Room/Delivery Room Complex is equipped to handle a range of needs from routine to high-risk cases, ensuring the best possible care for all patients. The department continues to thrive as a leading institution for SERVICE, TRAINING, and RESEARCH, with a dedicated team of twenty-one active staff members, all fellows of POGS and other respected subspecialties.
